Forever Communications has just closed on the sale of WNTJ Johnstown, PA and WCND Shelbyville, KY. Keys were handed over at $300,000.00 cash to Sima Birach. John Pierce exclusive broker.

Davidson Media Group has agreed to swap station WBZK Rockhill, SC (Charlotte) for Mike Glinter’s recently acquired WPYR Baton Rouge. Davidson already owns WGSO in New Orleans and with the acquisition of Baton Rouge; it will supply him with further reach in a growing Hispanic market.

Mike Glinter recently sold off all of his AMs in Pensacola, although he retained WGCX-FM. Recently Glinter relocated to the South Carolina area. John Pierce is the exclusive broker for the deal valued in the range of $400k.

David Stephens, President of KXOJ, Inc. and Stephens Family LP, has just closed on the Regent Communications Stations in Watertown New York as well as the Martz Group in Massena and Ogdensburg, New York. The Regent sale was closed at $6,250,000.00 dollars and the Martz at $5,095,000.00 dollars. Dick Foreman represented both Regent and Martz, while John Pierce and Company represented David Stephens.

Birach Broadcasting moves west with his most recent purchase from Davidson Media Group. Birach has just closed on his purchase of KTUV-AM in Little Rock, AR and KJMU-AM in Tulsa, OK for $1.5 million. This will be Birach’s entrance into both markets as Davidson exits.

This is to announce that a contract has been signed and an application is being filed with the FCC for the transfer of radio station WIL-AM, St. Louis, Missouri, from Bonneville International Corporation to Entertainment Media Trust for $1,200,000.

The Seller, Bonneville International Corporation, is a Salt Lake City, Utah-based company. Bonneville will retain the WIL call letters.

The Buyer, Entertainment Media Trust, is an Illinois-based company headed by Dennis Watkins.

Earlier this year, Your Public Radio, which owns WYPR in Baltimore under the directorship of Tony Brandon, purchased WRXS – FM, Ocean City, Maryland for $1.075 million. They have now closed on WRXS, which is in commercial band at the 106.9 frequency. The seller, Atlantic Radio Broadcasting, LLC, now exits radio. Educational Media Foundation, “K-Love” completes its coverage of West Virginia. According to Broker John Pierce Maranatha Radio has agreed to sell the assets of WMEJ-FM covering Huntington from Proctorville, Ohio at 91.9 and WZWA-FM serving Clarksburg, WVA at 90.1 on the reserved band. The total price is $900,000. Maranatha was founded by Dr. Paul Warren of Huntington and has a third station they are still operating in Charleston, WVA. EMF is already in Charleston as well as Wheeling with translators in various parts of the State as well. John Pierce & Co. L.L. C. exclusive broker.

BUFFALO, NY: According to broker John Pierce, Regent Broadcasting is selling WECK, licensed to Cheektowaga, New York (Buffalo), for $1.3 million cash, to Dick Greene’s Culver Communications, which also owns WLVL in Lockport, New York. EMF closes on another Rome/Utica station. Ed Levine's Galaxy Broadcasting has transferred the assets of station WRCK-FM licensed to Utica, NY to K-Loves EMF. Earlier in the year EMF purchased 3 stations from Levine with one being WSCP-FM west of Syracuse and the other 2 serving the Albany market. Birach Broadcasting travels west. After closing last week with Davidson Media Group on his purchase of stations in Iowa and North Carolina, Birach Broadcasting agrees to purchase KOLE 1340 in Beaumont/Port Arthur, Texas from Ralph McBride’s City Gate Media for $450K. Metropolitan Radio Group sells their last holdings in Colorado.! W. Philip Robinson’s & United States CP, LLC aggress to purchase KNKN-FM and KRMX-AM licensed to Pueblo, CO for $1.75M. According to John Pierce, broker for Mark Acker, with this sale Metropolitan still has stations in Little Rock, Shreveport and Farwell, Texas (Clovis, NM). BALTIMORE, MD – Your Public Radio Corporation, a Maryland non-profit, community-owned broadcasting company, announced today that it has purchased WRXS, 106.9 FM in Ocean City, Maryland. Your Public Radio Corp. is the licensee of both WYPR, 88.1 FM in Baltimore and WYPF, 88.1 FM in Frederick and will expand its statewide footprint through the acquisition of WRXS. The station’s signal covers Ocean City, Rehoboth, Bethany Beach, and Salisbury.

In yesterday’s realignment in Utica, NY, John Pierce & Company, LLC represented EMF on the sale of WRCK-FM as Bill Schutz represented Galaxy in that part of the larger sale. EMF just closed with Galaxy on two Albany FM’s as well as a suburban Syracuse FM signal, WSCP. As part of agreement to acquire the Albany stations from Galaxy EMF secured an option to buy WRCK for $1,225,000.00 million dollars and has now exercised that option. WRCK’s signal will not only saturate Utica/Rome but put a foot print into the eastern side of the Syracuse market.

Wilkins Communications under the leadership of Bob Wilkins has just agreed to purchase WITK-AM in Wilkes Barre-Scranton for $400,000.00

This makes Wilkins 16 th station in his all AM Network and it is # 3 in the state of Pennsylvania. Wilkins other Pennsylvania stations are in Pittsburg and York.

The seller is Bob Cordaro, not only well known in Wilkes Barre-Scranton but at the State House in Philadelphia with his full time job in local government. This is Mr. Cordaro’s only broadcast ownership.

Davidson expands in Charlotte. Davidson Media Group proposes to purchase WAGI-FM (Gaffney, SC), 100,000 watts to further expand its commitment to Hispanic radio in that area. Davidson Media Group already owns WNOW-AM and WBZK-AM. Jim O’Laughlin’s Kansas City Catholic Radio Network Has just closed on the purchase of KFEL in Pueblo Colorado.

KCC Radio also owns stations in Kansas City, Wichita and now, Pueblo-Colorado Springs. At closing, the price was $450,000.00.

After a challenging one year build out of CP790, Legacy Communications completes the build out and closes with Beasley Broadcast Group on the purchase of KBET 790. Richard Plessinger, an Ohio pioneer in radio, passed away at 2:25 AM. One of the 1 st stations he was involved with was WMOH in Hamilton, OH along with early development of cellular phones in their infancy. Plessinger Radio Group later owned FM”s in Cincinnati and just a few short months ago sold his last AM in Cincinnati to Davidson Media Group. His son Rick oversees their 2 FM’s in Apalachicola, Florida. Indeed, he will be missed by many of us.

Regent Communications to Divest WYNG-FM Serving Evansville, Indiana

CINCINNATI, Aug. 25 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Regent Communications, Inc. (Nasdaq: RGCI) announced today that it has entered into a definitive agreement to divest WYNG-FM serving the Evansville, Indiana market to W. Russell Withers, Jr. for $1.5 million in cash. The transaction is subject to receipt of all required regulatory approvals, which are expected to occur in the fourth quarter of 2006. At the close of the transaction, Regent will own and operate five radio stations in Evansville, Indiana.
