Davidson Media Group has agreed to swap station WBZK Rockhill, SC (Charlotte) for Mike Glinter’s recently acquired WPYR Baton Rouge. Davidson already owns WGSO in New Orleans and with the acquisition of Baton Rouge; it will supply him with further reach in a growing Hispanic market.
Mike Glinter recently sold off all of his AMs in Pensacola, although he retained WGCX-FM. Recently Glinter relocated to the South Carolina area. John Pierce is the exclusive broker for the deal valued in the range of $400k.

This is to announce that a contract has been signed and an application is being filed with the FCC for the transfer of radio station WIL-AM, St. Louis, Missouri, from Bonneville International Corporation to Entertainment Media Trust for $1,200,000.
The Seller, Bonneville International Corporation, is a Salt Lake City, Utah-based company. Bonneville will retain the WIL call letters.
The Buyer, Entertainment Media Trust, is an Illinois-based company headed by Dennis Watkins.
WIL-AM operates at 1430 kHz, with 5 kW day and 5 kW night.

Earlier this year, Your Public Radio, which owns WYPR in Baltimore under the directorship of Tony Brandon, purchased WRXS – FM, Ocean City, Maryland for $1.075 million. Educational Media Foundation, “K-Love” completes its coverage of West Virginia. According to Broker John Pierce Maranatha Radio has agreed to sell the assets of WMEJ-FM covering Huntington from Proctorville, Ohio at 91.9 and WZWA-FM serving Clarksburg, WVA at 90.1 on the reserved band. The total price is $900,000. Maranatha was founded by Dr. Paul Warren of Huntington and has a third station they are still operating in Charleston, WVA. BUFFALO, NY: According to broker John Pierce, Regent Broadcasting is selling WECK, licensed to Cheektowaga, New York (Buffalo), for $1.3 million cash, to Dick Greene’s Culver Communications, which also owns WLVL in Lockport, New York. EMF closes on another Rome/Utica station. Ed Levine's Galaxy Broadcasting has transferred the assets of station WRCK-FM licensed to Utica, NY to K-Loves EMF. Earlier in the year EMF purchased 3 stations from Levine with one being WSCP-FM west of Syracuse and the other 2 serving the Albany market. Your Public Radio Corp. is the licensee of both WYPR, 88.1 FM in Baltimore and WYPF, 88.1 FM in Frederick and will expand its statewide footprint through the acquisition of WRXS. The station’s signal covers Ocean City, Rehoboth, Bethany Beach, and Salisbury.

In yesterday’s realignment in Utica, NY, John Pierce & Company, LLC represented EMF on the sale of WRCK-FM as Bill Schutz represented Galaxy in that part of the larger sale. EMF just closed with Galaxy on two Albany FM’s as well as a suburban Syracuse FM signal, WSCP. As part of agreement to acquire the Albany stations from Galaxy EMF secured an option to buy WRCK for $1,225,000.00 million dollars and has now exercised that option. WRCK’s signal will not only saturate Utica/Rome but put a foot print into the eastern side of the Syracuse market.

Wilkins Communications under the leadership of Bob Wilkins has just agreed to purchase WITK-AM in Wilkes Barre-Scranton for $400,000.00
This makes Wilkins 16 th station in his all AM Network and it is # 3 in the state of Pennsylvania. Wilkins other Pennsylvania stations are in Pittsburg and York.
The seller is Bob Cordaro, not only well known in Wilkes Barre-Scranton but at the State House in Philadelphia with his full time job in local government. This is Mr. Cordaro’s only broadcast ownership.

Davidson expands in Charlotte. Davidson Media Group proposes to purchase WAGI-FM (Gaffney, SC), 100,000 watts to further expand its commitment to Hispanic radio in that area. Richard Plessinger, an Ohio pioneer in radio, passed away at 2:25 AM. One of the 1 st stations he was involved with was WMOH in Hamilton, OH along with early development of cellular phones in their infancy. Plessinger Radio Group later owned FM”s in Cincinnati and just a few short months ago sold his last AM in Cincinnati to Davidson Media Group. His son Rick oversees their 2 FM’s in Apalachicola, Florida. Indeed, he will be missed by many of us.

Regent Communications to Divest WYNG-FM Serving Evansville, Indiana
CINCINNATI, Aug. 25 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Regent Communications, Inc. (Nasdaq: RGCI) announced today that it has entered into a definitive agreement to divest WYNG-FM serving the Evansville, Indiana market to W. Russell Withers, Jr. for $1.5 million in cash. The transaction is subject to receipt of all required regulatory approvals, which are expected to occur in the fourth quarter of 2006. At the close of the transaction, Regent will own and operate five radio stations in Evansville, Indiana.
